These paintings come under the heading of special projects.  For one reason, or another, they are different than what I normally do.  Because creating art is such a personal experience, I work hand-in-hand with you to make your dream become a reality.

This is obviously not a portrait in the true sense of the word.  And yet, it is.  It's a portrait of a very nice  vacation home.  What a wonderful thing to display back at your regular home or your office! Every time you pass by, it brings a smile to your face.

This is Michael New, who was convicted of treason for refusing to serve under a UN command.  It was, he believed, an act of patriotism. This painting was reproduced in quantity and sold to pay for his continuing legal battles and a change in the law.

This painting was created for two purposes.  The first was as a gift for the Bluegrass fans shown in the background.  The other was that the painting was the front cover for a Bluegrass Magazine.  I've done a few of these types of commissions.

I'm often asked to take older black and white photos and paint a full-color portrait based on it.  I can do that and some of the images seen on this site were created that way.  However, it's less expensive and in some ways, quite charming, to paint them in B&W.
